Comox girl still missing

Despite rumours on the street to the contrary, police are still baffled as to the whereabouts of a missing 14year-old Comox girl. The girl, identified by police only by her first name, Lindsey, was first reported missing from a Comox home on Aug. 2. After her picture was published in the local media on Aug. 25, police received a "tremendous flood of information" from the public, RCMP Sgt. Dean Hodgson has said.

Several people were under the impression that Lindsey had travelled to the Lower Mainland area, but police never received any solid information to back up that belief.

"There's a rumour around that she's been located and all the kids think she's been located, but she hasn't," Hodgson said Tuesday.

Lindsay is five foot three inches and 115 lb, with blond hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information about Lindsay's whereabouts is urged to call the Courtenay RCMP at 338.1321.
